PROFILE

Born in the City of Sassi, Matera, one of the most ancient and sustainable settlements all over the world, in 2001 he graduates in Architecture with full marks by University ‘La Sapienza’ in Rome and obtains the professional qualification in 2002. In 2007, he also obtains a qualification as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Design and then LEED GA. He collaborates and wins more than one Architecture and Landscape competition as, for instance, bio-climatic experimental residential buildings together with Thomas Herzog (Eurosolar Award 2005) and some social housing developments with experimental green buildings projects. From 2003 he also collaborates with the ITACA Department of University ‘La Sapienza’ and he is assistant lecturer and then lecturer in Environmental planning and tutor in several courses by the Faculty of Architecture ‘Ludovico Quaroni’ in Rome. Moreover, from 2001 he collaborates with Prof. Pietro Laureano (IPOGEA), expert in water related issues, UNESCO’s consultant and member of UNCCD (United Nations Conventions to Combat Desertification), for projects on traditional technological know-how and innovative technologies in sustainable architecture, and on planning and renovation of ecosystems in human settlements and in landscape. He collaborates with some italian and international architecture firms as project architect, bio-climatic planning consultant and LEED expert and is mainly involved in some urban regeneration projects in Italy, Israel and Egypt. He is also responsible for sustainability and specialized in LEED and GBC IT certifications, supporting the design teams. As responsible of the certification procedure he administrates and coordinates the owner’s, the design team and the contractors’ project activities in order to achieve the highest level of certification. Among the most important managed projects there are: • the SEGRO Energy Park - n. 3 LEED PLATINUM certified buildings in Vimercate (MI, Italy) • Data4 datacenter in Cornaredo (MI, Italy) • The Gate project in Cairo, Egypt He also deals with legal and cost control aspects of the projects. From 2011 to 2014 he is member of the Steering Committee of the Green Building Council Italia (GBC Italia) and since 2012 is member of the Board of Directors, responsible of the elaborations of the GBC Italia’s rating systems for residential buildings (GBC HOME), neighborhoods (GBC QUARTIERI) and Historic Buildings (GBC HB). From February 2015 is member of the Board of Directors of GBC It Chapter Lombardia.
