Sintesi in an Urban Planning company that was founded in the early 1990s by the Architect Siro Cinti with a view to offering integral planning to clients. Siro Cinti began his professional activity as co-ordinator of city-scale projects for the urban administration of Rome: zone plans, agreed parcelling out and P.I.P. productive area plans. He also collaborated with the department that managed works connected with the football world cup, and was engaged in drawing up the eastern directional system (SDO) plan and devising the Rome Capital programme. These early professional experiences on territorial-scale works were fundamental to the method Sintesi chose for project managment: the complex and ambitious "Integral Plan" that starts from the design of the territory and ends with the architectural development of the constructional elements. One of Sintesi's basic characteristics is the ability to develop plans on a territorial scale and individual buildings of various types, always in the belief that environmental extension and integration in the existing city do not represent obstacles to planning but contextual principles for the incorporation of new Architecture. Our completed projects reveal the search for a "Rule", namely a planning method able to establish a dialogue with the different aspects of the site and rethink specific building and social traditions in relation to context. This has also enabled us to design many Architectural project for industry, commerce and the service and residential sectors. Although these may seem "minor" compared to the others, they, too, are characterized by the methodological continuity that has proved to be one of Sintesi's strong points.
